The rules for using the clipboard.

stashrelay is operated by Merendon Cloud, LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America. When this page says “we,” that's who we mean. When it says “you,” that's anyone using stashrelay — through the website or through any AI client you've connected. These terms apply on every domain we serve stashrelay from, whichever address brought you here.

stashrelay is a clipboard for your AI apps. You connect it to Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-capable client, stash content in one conversation, and retrieve it in another — on any device, under the same account.

It is deliberately a clipboard, not storage. Every item gets a fixed lifetime the moment it's stashed, and no plan keeps an item longer than seven days. Reading an item never extends its timer; only stashing again under the same name replaces the item and restarts its clock. When the timer runs out the item is gone. That expiry is the product working as designed, not a defect.

So the one rule that matters: never keep your only copy of something in the stash. Stashing copies content — it never modifies or removes anything on your machines — but the copy it holds is temporary by design.

You sign in with an account handled by our identity provider, Clerk. One account means one stash: every client and device you connect resolves to the same stack of items.

Connecting an AI client to stashrelay goes through an authorization screen. Approving it gives that client the ability to read and write your stash on your behalf. You're responsible for the clients you connect and for everything done through your account — only connect clients you trust.

Keep your access tokens confidential — including any API keys you create on the settings page, which you can revoke there yourself at any time. If you stop trusting a connected client, stop using it and contact us — we can revoke its access. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us right away.

• Don't stash content that's illegal for you to possess or share where you live or where we operate — including content that exploits or harms minors, stolen data, and content you have no right to copy.
• Don't use stashrelay to move content in furtherance of anything illegal — fraud, malware campaigns, harassment, and so on.
• Don't probe, overload, or attack the service, and don't try to work around rate limits, slot counts, size caps, or expiry.
• Don't try to access anyone else's stash or defeat the encryption that protects stashed content.
• Don't resell or proxy access to stashrelay without our agreement.

Your stashed content is encrypted at rest and nothing in the service reads or scans it (see the privacy policy), so we don't review content proactively. We can still suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, and we respond to lawful requests from authorities.

Several stashrelay tools delete data as their normal, documented behavior, and they're labeled as destructive so clients can warn you before running them:

• pop retrieves an item and removes it from the stash in the same step.
• discard deletes a single item without returning it. clear deletes every item in your stash, across all connected clients, at once.
• Stashing under a name you've already used replaces the previous item in the same step — the old content is deleted and can't be recovered.
• Stashing onto a full stack is refused — the new item is not saved, and nothing already in the stash is deleted. There is no user-configurable evict or override via the connected client; that stays reject until a durable settings surface exists.

Once an item expires or is removed, there is no undo, no trash, and no recovery path — for you or for us: no tool or support channel can bring it back. (Encrypted remnants can linger briefly in the datastore and its backups before they're purged; see the privacy policy.) We are not liable for the loss of items removed by expiry or by these tools doing what they say.

stashrelay is free. Every account gets the same limits — 1 slot, 1 hour item lifetime, 64KB storage per item, and 5 requests per minute — shown on the limits section. There are no paid plans and we do not charge for the service. We may change these limits over time; changes apply going forward, not to items already stashed.

stashrelay is provided on a best-effort basis. We don't promise uninterrupted service or any specific uptime, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue features.

stashrelay is provided “as is.” We don't warrant that the service will be available at any given moment or that any item will remain retrievable for its full lifetime — a clipboard's contract is short-term transit, not guaranteed delivery. You use stashrelay at your own risk.

To the extent permitted by law, Merendon Cloud, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising out of your use of stashrelay. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to whatever you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

We'll update these terms when stashrelay's behavior changes meaningfully. Material changes get a refreshed “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of stashrelay after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute can't be resolved informally — and we'd rather it be — it goes to the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
